I've had a look and there is brake fluid leaking from the damper near the back axle.
Can someone talk me through what I need to do? Im in town and struggling to get in gear, I topped up with some DOT 4, but I think there is air in and will need bleeding. There is a DIY shop I can nip in for stuff. Then I will have to go steady home as everytime I change gear I have to pull the pedal back. Toolbox is at home

To be honest, the best thing is to block the hole in the metal block on the clutch flexible pipe that feeds the damper pipe off, and completely disconnect the damper pipe.

Hardest part was finding a bolt with the correct thread. I got a "Sump" style plug and a copper washer for mine.

Any idea what thread or size? Im in town sat in the motor, dont mind buying a couple of different ones but once I get it off I'll need the right plug :lol

fine pitch 1.25 iirc cant remember what size needs to be though

we just cleaned mine out & welded it up, but 2 get u home get a 8mm or 10mm socket & 2bottles of brake fluid, just fill the master, bleed & go asap, try to use clutch as little as possible, i had to do that serveral times before sorting it. :thumb2

Took it steady and got home ok., then i topped up the brake fluid, took all of 30ml ish. 8mm socket on the bleed nipple and TSHHHHHH! Clutch pedal back to normal. I know what the problem is now, just have to read up on best way of doing it and get it right in my head before I solve it by blanking the damper. It's a very slight leek but over time the fluid level has dropped and let in air.

Note to self: always carry that little 1/4" socket set. :doh

Thanks, that's basically what I've done for now, but only lost a small amount of fluid.

I replaced my flexi pipe so had the luxury of taking the hose to Danlett on St Andrews Rd in Huddersfield. They sorted me out with a bolt with the correct thread. May be you could take the union from the end of the damper pipe but your truck will be off the road at that point. Then took the bolt to a little engineering shop in Dewsbury, the bloke put the bolt in a lathe and cut it down to size and machined a bit from bottom of the bolt. Took it home did it nice n tight job done.

Hmm, I have access to the wifes motor if I go the way you did and remove the union to source the correct bolt. Meanwhile, got a few pics I could do with Identifying?

The first Pic: Do I remove the threaded end pipe that I marked?
2nd Pic: What do I do then with the rear damper? Ignore it?

Have I identified the parts correctly?

'what this' is the slave cylinder & clutch fork attach, yes that is where u wanna block it from as suggested either with a bolt or weld, rest of the dampner u can either leave or take it off just be careful u don't damage any other pipes in the process :thumb2

My Flexi pipe was gone, so I had the advantage of the old one to take to the motor factor and get a blanking bolt to fit, so have no idea of the size. If it is not a weird imperial size (Not sure if brakes and clutch systems are still set in the dark ages), then I reckon you are looking at M14. Definatally bigger than M12, as that rattles in the hole.

I just left the damper pipe in place, but bent the end clear so I could get the bolt in.

Someone on here, discovered that one of the brake pipes works as a replacement for the clutch flexible pipe, but I never worked out which pipe he was talking about.

that would be me :D it the flexi pipe that goes down to the calipers on the front

it is a bit long bit it just cable ties out the way and the kink goes once its full of fluid lol

Ahaarreee...

Good job... I think that if I have to re-do mine again, I will do that, much better way.

Would be a good mod for a body lift as well, reckon with all that spare hose, you should be ale to go up to about 12 to 16":lol:lol

thats a point i aint looked at it since i did the body lift :lol

Looks like I'll be whipping the bolted pipe thing off and taking it to that nuts and bolts place on the way to Brighouse. I'll make a note of the thread pattern and size for any future members.... Not like the bodge it & scarpers on here......:lol:lol :naughty
