Hi all, bit of a problem, have lost top bolt that holds starter motor in place 8O

Does anyone know the bolts type/size that I need?

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Mark

Hi there, off the top of my head its 14mm and you will need a ratchet type ring spanner to get it out and in. You can't get a socket on it!!!!

Sorry miss read your post. Best bet is to take other bolt out and go to garage or motor factor for similar bolt, or go to Nissan and get new bolt, sounds daft but they'll order you a new bolt

Thanks for advice, will go to Nissan in morning. I think you are right it is a 14mm.

Bottom bolt is in, didn't want to take it out for the reason it's a pig to get to.

When I get the bolts, will give part number details, just in case anyone else has same problem.

Cheers Hummingbird thats a great help.

Will do the Nissan order but if thta looks like it could take ages I will get bolts else where and cut to size.

Cheers Sweety, normally remember that when half way down the road or about to fit new bolt!!!! This time I have made a note of a few bits to get.

I always keep lengths of all thread in the garage, different diameters, to make temporary bolts, you can pein over the thread onto the nut to lock it or use a lock nut. But maybe you need high tensile bolts, it depends what is taking the shear force.

Machine Mart
Also do a box of Nuts n Bolts, also a box a circlips about £7+ I think, always handy to have em in the shed/garage

Excellent suggestions, bearing in mind how difficult it is to get a couple of bolts!!
