help please! bad noise

I'v got a bad clicking noise occurring when in 4wd. Noise coming from the front off side.. Is it the drive shaft or the free-running hub????????? :nenau

possibly the auto hub not locking

i would search old threads for hub problems and check the downloads section there are guides to servicing and replacing with manual hubs

If it's the hub, which it most probably is, then it's a doddle to fix
It's just alen key and tea:thumbs

Are you engaging 4 wheel drive on tarmac, if so you are placing incredible strain on the auto locking hubs, if you are on soft stuff then it is possible they just want striping and greasing, unless you find something broke inside, Rick

Ah, it could be the drive shaft then, CV .
Again easy fix, just more tools and more tea:thumbs

Strip the hubs, not hard, replace any broken bits, just have the manual at your side or photo it as you strip it for reference, Rick

follow the manual, often you find someone else has had a go before, and put it back wrong..... you dont want to copy someone else's mistake

I'd lay money on it being that.

Wake it up on axle stands or a ramp if you have access

Or get it on some mud
