Followed the Workshop download it says :
Step 4
Undo the filter carefully by hand and remove from mounting

It wont unscrew off by hand. Tried a Oil filter bicycle chain lever thing. Nope.
Is it a normal thread? Unscrew to the Left, Right to Tight

Really need to get this done sharpish, I'm going out soon

unbolt the bracket and turn it upside down then bolt it back in place u can get better purchase on it, just undo it enough to loosen it then turn back to right way then ya can undo it by hand

Mine was a bugger to get off 1st time, ended up removing the mount and refitting upside down so I could use a mates feck off big filter wrench to brute force it.

Lefty loosy, righty tighty as usual.

I have a filter wrench that puts a metal strap round the body and then is tighted by a screw. got the oil filter dead easily when last attempt failed by all methods.

Good luck with the filter.

Yes, it is the correct thread, but like you, mine was stupidly tight as well.

I ended up taking mine off completely, putting the metal mount part in the vice, and using a ratchet tie down strap to lever it off.

Job done! that priming travel is a laugh. Half an inch at most :hmh

Soon as I read 'bolt upside down' I knew that was the voice of experience :thumbs

I'm glad I wasn't the only one.

I used a cheapo oil filter wrench - all my tools are cheapo- with the housing bolted upside down. still took some force, full on hulk power :sly and it slowly started to move.

Thanks fellas
