Hi, I'm a Patrol GR driver based in Wolverhampton. I've joined so that I can get (and give, I hope) help from/to the UK Patrol drivers. I'll probably just be lurking around... :thumb2

Welcome aboard mate . Top choice of truck there :sly
Pics please (Zippy likes that ) :D

Hi welcome to the best site for all things 4x4 Nissan.:thumb2

Welcome mate!!!

I'm your friendly club moderator, there's 3 of us Thomas pops in from time to time and I have no idea where Bat is at the moment :nenau

You aren't too far from me, Rustic above is in Staffordshire and I'm in Wednesbury :thumb2

It's not a brown Patrol GR 3.0Litre you drive is it?

Welcome bud from a fellow Trol owner, great club here :thumbs

How long have you had her? Did someone say pics?...

Wow! Great welcome, thanks.

I'll get some piccies done and posted. She's a silver 'trol with "event support" written on it and a couple of short Radio communication aerials on top. Usually running around Wolves, back and forth to work in Shropshire and up and down the motorways of this fair land.

No mods on it, done 195,000 miles and I've only had her since February. I've taken the old Duellers off (horrid tyres in wet when worn) and replaced with some all-season road-oriented tyres, much improved.

She's got a swivel joint seal gone and I think shocks/springs might need doing soon.

Hopefully see you guys around

The seals are a straight forward DIY job :thumb2
Assuming the spheres are in good nick. If not you can do a liquid metal filler job and sand down. Worth considering a full hub rebuild though. At nearly 200k it's probably time. All parts avail from Milners and you get club discount :D

I saw that near Dunstall Park a few weeks ago I'm sure!!!!!!!!!!!!

BarrBeast, I see you fitted euro rear lights to your Trol... where did you source those? They're far better than the standard UK set-up, people keep telling me some of my lights aren't working!

Banshee - Yup, that'd be me. Dunstall Garage? Just dropped in to see my mate Chris.

Welcome to my second home.
Don't be too disheartened your trucks not as good as my terrano:augie

I can live with being second-rate... had lots of practice over the years!

Oh yes more than welcome another troll owner seems so many on here drive the Terrano (one day they will learn).

I have a silver 2003 Patrol SVE that has no mods apart from CB at the moment as I only go green laning in it and Patrols are so good that you do not need really to mod them for green laning.

I am the GLASS rep assist for Hertfordshire so if you or any one else needs help with lanes in my area just give me a shout.

Welcome aboard

Russell.

Looks like my n/side joint leaking too:( ,any specials tools or hints needed, sad to say I am a reluctant mechanic but needs must

I got mine from Aus but they do turn up in Latvia and the like. Again ebay :thumbs

As Russell says, you don't NEED to mod your Trol :augie... but it does help and you can have a lot of fun doing it :naughty

If nothing else it does give me a bit of a chuckle the way the winch bumper catches people's eyes when they walk by/cross in front or you park behind them :lol

As Makeitfit said, Latvia via an eBay shop bud :thumb2

They're much better and don't need much work. My write-up of when I did it is here - http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20222

Basically nearside is completely plug and play but you need to run a cable across for the rear light on the offside cluster. For the fog light I just connected the cable into the holder for the reverse light on the offside cluster and fitted a high powered red LED bulb (by law you only need one reverse light on the nearside).
