Had this project on the go for about a year or so but i finally got round to painting and fitting it over the weekend.
I'm still trying to decide if i actually like it now its done and on:lol:lol

I like it, Straight, clean and very functional.

Maybe it's the colour?

yeah it doesn't match the rest of the bottom half yet,a repaint in satin black for rest of the bottom half is planned as its looking a bit tatty so hopefully it will not draw your eye to it.
i based the shape on the AFN ones that are on the market for stupid money.

One of the best rear steel bumpers I have seen, excellent, plenty of rear clearance.
Since the other guy doesn't frequent this site much these days, I didn't like his lol. Mind you I told him too... like many others lol.
Any link with the fact he doesn't visit very often lol ? ...:lol:lol

In the accent of Columbo... Just one thing?
have you lost a nut and bolt that attaches the tow bar to the chassis mount on the near side? or is it the angle of the shot?. :nenau

Elty I was looking at these just the other day, they are deffo expensive  From what I can see in the pic tho the afn one would not allow the spare wheel to be re-fitted cos it sticks out too far and has no dip/cut away for bottom of tyre :nenau thus making yours far superior :bow :lol

When I first started this project I designed it to fit behind the spare wheel on the door.
I was thinking of doing a swing Away wheel carrier but that's a project for another day :lol

Swing away is more weight too, thats an awesome setup you've got their bud :thumb2

It's getting there :thumb2
Getting it in the paint shop at work over the weekend to respray the bottom half in satin black so it all matches

when mine are ready for replacing i'm going for blue braided ones:cool::cool:

Also the recovery points on the AFN one look to be made from cheese, Would not hold up well. I'm not sure why they are on there, the D shackles look like they are from a lego set.

I guess the owner could of added them on himself.

I can't make my mind up yet :nenau

You leaving it as it is now? I feel it's missing something without the lighst and plate

they don't look the strongest.mine are 20mm thick plate which slide 250 mm into the chassis.the rear of the chassis has been braced between the ends with 6 mm thick angle iron and 5mm plate to strengthen the mounting points. The 4 main rear bumper bolts have been upgraded to M12 bolts.
Hopefully this should eliminate any twisting of the chassis if a heavy recovery is ever needed.

Fitting some small reversing lights and my trailer socket but other than that its staying as is.
lights are less prone to get broken up on the body out of the way.
