heater pipe problem

i was talking to another R51 owner the other day (and yes i did tell him to join the site) he was telling me that the rear heater pipes for the R51 run under the body work of the sills and are made of aluminimum and pathy owners are having probs with these rusting,
pipes are cheap but they say the whole body has to be lifted off the frame in order to replace and £2000 bills have been handed out
OOOOUUUUUCCCHHHHHH!!!!!!
His suggestion was to get it jacked up and lather it with waxoil to stop this

Has anyone heard of this?

if they go blank em off its nearly summer lol,good opertunity to get some spacers made and do a body lift lol
