Heater Fan /Blower Problems

Hi folks was wandering if anyone could tell me whats causing my heater / blwer fan to come on and off as it pleases?, It works fine sometimes then other times it stops after half an hour or so, then comes back a few hours later.Its a pain cause if the fan is not on A/C goes off as well.

sounds like a loose connection some where, with it been intermitant it could take a bit of finding, i would start with all the block connectors break them look for damage and re connect them then see what happens :?:

I had a similar issue to yours , symptom turned out to be a wire behind the glove box which had rubbed through on a bracket, but had not blow a fuse and was vey intermittant. Mick

WHEN IT STOPS WORKING HAVE YOU TRIED THE TOP SPEED ie NO4.
IF IT WORKS THEN THE REGULATOR IS OVER HEATING THEN COOLING DOWN .

No it still wont work all the way to No 4 i was wandering if it was the regulator, the heater is supposed to cut off if the engine overheat's as i understand it.
Its looking more and more like a wiring problem then, better get the my tester out.

i had a similar problem with mistral blower motor.

i stripped the blower out from under the passenger glover box and found that it had a small amount of rust on the fan blades and bearing due to moisture or water ingress.

a quick clean and some wd40 around the bearing had it working on all speed settings again.
