Heated Door Mirror

Can anyone help. The N/S heated door mirror has given up and wont demist

Will the mirror back housing come off while still on the car so I can check wiring etc.

If thats OK will I need ti bye just a mirror or a complete unit.

The back is just a secondary cover (sometimes painted sometimes chromed plastic), you need to pop the glass out to get at the guts.
