Hi and a happy new year to to all and families.

Has anybody info on adjusting the headlamp alignment on a '96 T2 Timberland (square headlamp model)?

Mine seem to be 'cross eyed' in that, when in misty conditions, they seem to have crossed beams and to be a little off centre on main beam to where I'd prefer they focus. Information on how I can adjust them would be welcomed?

First check that the bulbs are correctly seated in the holder, sometimes they don't fully engage and the beam is like a search light.
Try removing it, rotating it and press slightly before putting the spring clip on.

Thanks Rustic

Just put new HID bulbs in and they seem to be set OK. The problem was the same with original bulbs so I can only assume they're seated as they should be. I'm seeking a method of adjusting the beam angle. If anyone has done it I'd be grateful of guidance.

When you say square headlights do you mean rectangular? As apposed to the twin round ones and the later squarer ones?

Assuming you do - if you take a phillips/pozidrive screw driver and insert it into one of the holes in the slam panel above the lights you can use it to turn a gear which operates the mechanism that aligns the headlights, difficult to describe but easy enough I finally got round to lowering mine a bit the other night as they where too high.

Thanks HB

Yes, you're right, the headlamp assemblies are rectangular, 30cm x 14cm, rather than square, each having a single dipping headlamp bulb and an integral sidelight bulb.

I've followed your instructions and found what appears to be two nylon gear wheels accessed through holes in the panel above each light. I'll try to adjust them when it gets dark & misty tonight. Thanks for the advice.

Regards CL.

Hi all

HB thanks for the tip on adjustment. I managed to use the method you suggested and aligned the vertical plane of the lights successfully but I couldn't seem to affect the horizontal plane no matter how much I twiddled either adjuster. It's not a big problem, at least I'm not dazzling oncoming drivers and with the new high intensity bulbs there is a definite improvement in night vision.

Regards CL

I'll have a look at mine and see if I can figure it, never needed to adjust laterally so on't know - bigger things to worry about on mine at the mo though so may be a day or so.
