Is there any benefit to be gained from modding the terrano head?
Read a lot about 200TDi heads being tweaked to great effect:augie
Any engine boffins online?

there is always a benefit i thought as better flow through the engine would mean better combustion and a hp gain because of it.
as for how much you would gain who knows, but to get the maximum out of it you would need to mod the inlet and exhaust.
theres no point in being able to shift more air and fuel through your engines cylinder head unless you can get it in there quicker and get rid of the burning exhaust gases quicker.

Ah well you see there I've got big exhaust and custom down pipe, and raised air ram effect too:thumbs
Just not sure if diesel head tuning produces similar gains to petrol:nenau

Get yourself a spare head and do the work to that, if it works and your happy with your modded head I can buy your old head off of you lolol

how many valves has the 2.7, recall 2.4 petrol is 12 and the 3.0 tdi 16.

appreciate cant really change number of valves, unless 3.0s is common
enough but shows things do evolve i guess.

The 2.7 has 2 valves per cylinder so that makes 8 valves in total all being driven by push rods

I'm getting a head from the scrap yard to possibly mod, not me but head specialist:augie

looking at changeing the engine now if adz can come up with the goodz.
adz is looking for another maverick for spares and he told me that once he has one that he can arrange for the engine to be swopped over as a gesture of good will coz he feels so bad about selling this truck to me with a dodgey engine. bless him :thumbs
