I've noticed the little light in the hazard lights switch and the rear defogger switch are not working anymore. Hazards/rear defogger work just fine.

Can the lights in those switches be replaced, or might it be a fuse or something?
Other question: isn't the rear defogger switch supposed to remain depressed once you press is? Mine just veers back out, the defogger remains active for a while though, just as it should.

For clarity: both switches are seperate, not part of radio or so.

The rear demister switch does not toggle, so that is ok. Not sure about the lights though.

I had this problem with the illumination years ago, probably about 9 years ago. Nissan will tell you no you can't but me being me wouldn't take that. The switches will take apart if you are very clever, can't remember how. You can buy tiny 12v bulbs with wire legs and do a direct replacement. I decided that I'd prefer white LEDs, used a resistor on each but was able to fit them and reassemble the switch. They do only illuminate with the headlights tho just like the rest of the dashboard.
As said the demister does not latch it seems to press to make contact and start a timer.

i thought my switch was faulty as it just pushes in with no light so got another from bay,its same so i decided to look at the fuses and found 2 blown, one for rear demister and the switch lights now,do not know what other fuse does.

checked the fuses, all good. As said, demister and hazards work, it is just the indicator light in the switches that doesn't.
I'll try to take apart one of the switches then.

if your wondering about the working operation of the rear demister just turn it "on" and wait for several mins, then squirt a dab of water on it, if working it will steam :thumb2

Demister works just fine, have to test it everytime I take the car out as windows are frozen these days :)

Think I'd be looking at getting a couple of replacement switches from one of our members who break Terranos, much less hassle for not much money!

I know, but posting to Belgium might be rather expensive. Anyway, anyone up for selling & sending these switches? Can pay with paypal or bank transfer...
I checked out a few offers on ebay, but they are rather expensive.
