how do you adjust the handbrake?? mine you see, when you pull it up, it doesnt hold, then you yank it up one tiny click and it holds. Ive got new brakes all round, and a quick inspection shows cables to be OK, although unclear if one might be sticking. had a look under the removable cover under the handbrake, cant see an adjuster screw....

under the handbrake thers a small flap in the central consol..

lift that out youll see the two long adjusters

Sorry for the long delay, but I am at work

i couldnt see two adjuster screws under the flap...ill look again....!

On mine there is only one, I remove the centre console and disconnect the 2 plugs for the window control.

The hand brake adjustment requires adjustment at each wheel, as the Automatic adjusters do not always work that well.

I think there is a down load, but this is the general approach
1 Jack up rear and place on axle stands etc
2 Slacken the adjuster under the handbrake lever.
3 Remove rear wheels and only the brake drum on the side you are working on. You may need 2 x 8mm bolts to help remove the drum, and some release agent, but yours should be ok.
3 Adjust auto adjuster and try re-fitting the drum.
4 Apply foot brake several times and hand brake several times. (make sure both drums are on).
5 Repeat process 3 & 4 until the drum just goes on.

6 Repeat process on other side, refit wheels, check for binding,
7 Apply brakes several times again.
8 Go to adjuster under hand brake so that the handbrake starts to grip on say 2nd click etc
Other members may advise otherwise. But it works for me.
