Hi

Further to my enquiry about rear hub seals.

Does anyone know how to remove the outer brake cable from the brake back plate.

Thanks

Mick

Hi Mick its easier to leave it attached to hub and unbolt it from car body then disconnect it where two cables run into one, I think its fully explained in Wilf,s Workshop. I done mine and found it quite easy to remove.

best of luck ezza

Thanks for the advice.

I Concluded that was the case but was intriged as to how it is held in the brake plate. Anyway I shall leave it on and do as you recommend

Thanks

Mick

handbrake cable

the handbrake cable is held in by a circular type spring clip which you cant see as it is inside the little tube in the backplate. i had to lever it out with some difficulty damaging the clip, so i fitted a new cable for that side only £13 from southern exhausts in southampton.
