Groaning pump

So my power steering has started to make a groaning noise when I turn the wheel, not deafening but gets louder with more resistance, is it new pump time?

Also I have noticed a little lack of power, could this be related, I remember Rick saying the viscous fan can rob some about 5hp when it sticks on!

I've noticed that when tyre pressures are low it causes my power steering to struggle and groan, but that was on 31 muds

I agree most likely belt is loose or low fluid especially if it's worse when cold or during low speed plenty of lock manoeuvres.

Right then I'll check the belt tmoro, thanks guys thats cheered me up, I was thinking pump.
The level is ok but it could do with changing really, I'm not even sure what grade is in it, it's the stuff barrbeast put in for me last year when my cooler line broke in wales, I owe that bloke a pint

Tightened belt a bit today, not sure if it made any difference, i think ive got that super sensitive paranoid hearing about now :lol it doesnt feel any different than it always has since always, maybe i cleaned my ears better than usual

Nah no difference, I'll put another pump on next year, might do it at the same time I fit the Elgrand alternator that is still in my ebay watch list :lol
