Would anyone be as kind when they are next on their map programme and have a look in my local area for me, it's a pain I have to travel 35 miles each way to lane...

I did try and work out that bloody map software but I might aswell be reading Latin...

If anyone would be kind enough id be awful grateful :thumb2

I'm in northolt, surrounding areas include, ruislip, harefield, uxbridge, and heading towards rickmansworth. :thumb2

You're the only one that's struggled lol
Even the oldies have sussed it :lol

For a quick look go on bing maps, put in the place you want and change the map from road atlas to ordnance survey and it will bring up the map with byways etc.
Don't just trust the map though mate, best to check with local council to make sure they are still legal to drive.
There is also wayfinder.
Have to create an account but it's free and gives you access to every right of way the uk:thumb2

Have a look down Packet Boat Lane in West Drayton, been a few years since I've been there.
It goes to Iver trough a ford of significant proportions crossing the River Colne.

Cheers mate, thankyou for that :thumb2 don't think I'll be giving it a go,if that's the river I'm thinking of its a canal :lol

And with no snork...

I will give this a go now :thumb2

I'm sure that map programme is great, I had nothing but trouble with it... Only being able to load small blips of a map at a time n my geography is so bad it's useless to me :(

Would love a crash course in it sometime, I keep seeing fat landies driving about covered in mud. There must be lanes near me :thumb2

Alex if your prepared travel here to get your lift done its not to far to come for a full days greenlaning in the peak district:thumb2

Get yourself a cb.

I think the canal (close by) is the grand union, the ford crosses the River Colne.

Alex, there is the Icknield way near me, the one I said about the other night, parts of it are blocked to vehicles, but you can still access a lot of it.

Right, so ive signed up for this wayfinder site, it seems pretty good, and its actually throwing byways and BOAT lanes at me :thumb2

Only problem is... I dont understand how to get my grid reference to find lanes near to me, this is chucking stuff down by the south coast :augie

ive obviously got the ref wrong. can anyone help me with this please?

I will attach two pics, first one being what the website wants... I have put 1234 1234 as the reference and the second being my co-ordinates, and no im not fussed about giving my co-ordinates out :thumb2

Not sure I understand why you put in 1234 1234.... you need to put in TQ then

u78,

Opps, Poppet wants to help...

Anyway, TQ, 113 834 will be close enough.

If you do not get any responses to 10Km, try a larger number, there may be no green lanes on there within 10Km of you.

Looks as though your OS grid reference is: TQ 511302 83412

just the first two numbers on each line of the grid ref is fine.
TQ 11 83 will give you some results.

yeah thats what I did in the end, I used 4 numbers from the front and 4 from the rear. Its brought up some results. Nothing really major within 10k but didnt expect it anyway..
