ok been thinking about this for a while i can get new svo for 90 pence pl in handy catering 20 L drums so mite give it a go at the week end just wanted to check which make fuel pump i have whats the easiest way to check ? if all goes well the same place will supply me with WVO so i will make a processor to heat and de-water it and filter down to 1 micron before putting it in, seems the simplest and cheapest way of doing it and no need to worry about the dangers of making bio

Bosch is best.

And don't go too mad at this time of year, 20 litres or so to a tankful is plenty as it doesn't like low temperatures - tends to start lumpy.

Come summer you can go mad.

i have been experimenting with a roughly 50/50 mix for the last week or so, and so far - brilliant!

If you look at your air filter housing and pipework, the maf sensor is located in one of the plastic tubes, it has wires attached, if it says bosh on the top, you have a bosh pump, and apparently they are the best for veg oil :thumb2

unless of course tours is a TD rather than a TDI in which case i have no idea!

cheers fellas

its a TDI gonna check out the air filter/maf to see what iv got i know bosch is much better for the veggi some good info on here and was only thinking 50/50 this time of year as you say due to the cold weather if my supply of wvo is regular as promised free motoring here i come :thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2

well not free, but 90p a liter is more like it, and with diesel at about 1.30 thats a 20 p a liter saving overall at a 50/50 mix which means £12 worth f fuel for a £10.

I think it's worth it on principal if nothing else :thumb2
