I tried unscrewing them they have a slot for a screw driver and are round but don,t move ,are they just covers to prise off, or are these the actual nuts. help please, need to get the old girl back on the road.

Without seeing them it's difficult to be certain.
IF they are protective covers over the nut, that makes the electrical connection, it would make sense that they are there to prevent any electrical accidents!
If you can pull one off and it has the nut for the connection to the bus bar under it, you should be ok from there..

Hi, these plastic screws are in fact moulded plastic over a brass core, they don't seperate.

Use a wide bladed screw driver that fits the width of the plastic top.

There is a great risk that part of the plastic will brake away, so you may need mole grips to undo them if this happens.

It's not the end of the world if they break, as the new glow plugs come with new nuts.

It's just good engineering that the tops on the original are well insulated.
Hope this helps,
best regards, Rustic.
