2.7 tdi 55 plate lwb
Getting harder to start.
Put in brand new Lucas battery 740 amps
And brand new glow plugs, Lucas as well.
All tightened up and shiny and new.
New fuel filter too.
Still not easy to start.
Checked the fuses and the 80 amp on has been bodged with a 20 amp one.
The aux 30 amp one beside it has blown too.
Where can I get these fuses, eBay doesn't seem to have them???
Surely this will help starting enormously???
Cheers

Check how much dealers sell them for, also might be the only place to source them too.

Since I did that mod, and of course have not blown a fuse since, I have been keeping an eye out for a replacement 80Amp fuse on Ebay, and doing the odd search when I remember, but they are very hard/verging on impossible to find it with the correct fitting. The majority of the ones listed as "PAL" would not fit in the Nissan holder, which I know, as I purchased those from my local Motor factor. I have searched high and low, and can not find anyone other than the main stealer selling these fuses, and when I asked about them, I was told they do not carry them, 6 weeks to get in, and £18 a time...

Here are a couple of Ebay listings which do show the right ones, to help you search a bit easier...

Get me a picture of the fuse you are missing and I'll get you a replacement :thumb2

Well it's now fixed and all running great.
My start ups are not laboured anymore, she starts and ticks over great.

Solution

I phoned all the motor factors etc like most people did on this forum.
They all said very hard to get or do not sock etc...
So... Went to my local scrappy and opened the bonnets of X trails and almeras.
In the fuse boxes of those models there were 80 amp pal fuses. Got about 6 of them to have spares.
They fit perfectly and problem solved. Maybe worth putting up as a sticky?
I still need a drivers side sun visor though, I could swap a couple of fuses for one if anybody has a spare?
