Got this far (only a few feet) when one of the logs broke and had to abandon that anchor point so now went for a small tree which held but my extension dyneema broke three times, (it is the first one I bought so like me getting on) all of the trekking back and forth was using time and as it was nearly 3pm I decided to call my mates who were on site for a hand, but the motor most equipped had done a front shaft and the other was not even going to attempt to get in front of me as an anchor point, so with reluctance we decided I had to come out the way I went in, well it took my mate with a winch on a block and another motor with a winch to move me, I was well in, by 3.30 I was out so we all headed back to the car park, as I was about to leave for home about 3.50 after sorting my kit out a guy asks if I can pull him out, so off we go to find a landy with a snorkel in deep water, I pass him my winch hook to attach to his motor, he was up to his backside in it and had to go deeper to find the recovery point on his motor, he came out OK but I enquired why his motor had died, he did not know but it was diesel so i was perplexed, he tried to start it but battery flat, gave him a jump start but although it turned over OK nothing happened so said I will give him a tow start, it is now 4pm and site officially closes now, so said 2nd gear and hit the brakes once it starts, well did not get the normal snatches as clutch released so after a short distance enquired why, he said it was still not turning over on the key!!!!!!!! I explained that he should leave the ignition on foot on clutch 2nd gear and drop clutch once we are moving, so this now produced what I would expect but no start, so I said you drive my motor and give it some welly in first, well got it started after about 5 mins of towing but it did not sound good, we stopped and I managed to keep it running and asked him to pop the bonnet and remove the air filter, sure enough it had collapsed with water ingress, but was now running better, told him his snorkel was goosed and he managed to follow me out of the site, I left him on the A27 but he was still going heading back to London, hope he made it, he has a bit to learn
