I learnt to drive in a Series IIA landrover, that explains why I sometimes started off in second :doh

Mind you, my first car was a mini, with the long wobbly gear lever, wow... talk about a lottery...

The later ones with the remote shift and the stubby gear lever took some of the guess work out, but even that wasn't guaranteed.::augie
