After a recent visit to the garage, the mechanic noted that there is a whinning noise was coming from the gear box (02 xlt maverick), which I had already noticed, and that it is a pin within the gear box that need lubricating (can't remember the correct name of it) ! He reckons that it is nothing to worry about. He is a mechanic that I trust and have no apparent reason not to trust his word.
But any further useful input on this matter would be appreciated.
