Probably a simple questions for those in the know.

The gaiters on both by gear sticks has ripped and I can see right though to the ground.

This makes it very noisy. Just general noise from the engine and road. This there meant to be a cover under this, or carpet maybe or just need to get two new gaiters?

I have gaiters if you want some, just post pics of what you have, Rick

just to put you in the picture I have many T2's up to 98 here as scrappers, so lots of incidental bits are available, Rick

Actually looking for 2 bits of trim. Vent on the passenger side and what I think is a speaker cover in the rear (cream colour). Its these wee bits are a bugger to get!!!

There are 2 gaiters on the T2, a heavy duty one bolted down to the transmission tunnel, which is designed to keep everything out (Water, fumes, noise), then the lighter ones that go from the plastic trim to the gear knob.

Just for future reference, should you accidentally rip the heavy duty lower one, the cheap poundshop bicycle puncture repair kit patches stick and repair it very nicely.

I think that's my problem, the heavy duty one what is bolted down the transmission tunnel is no longer there, unless its still there and I can't see it. Haven't removed the internal gaiter yet. Hopefully it will be there, if not, any ideas?

When I did my body lift, I looked at trying to find a way to make one that allowed a bit more travel, but decided that it was not really a DIY project. In the end, I put my one back after repairing it, upside down, so the gaiters stuck down and did not inhibit the gear stick movement.

So, I think the best I can suggest is you send Rick (Solarman) a PM and get a price off of him, or contact someone breaking one near you.

You do really need it, as if you should do any wading, that is what stops the water coming in, let alone engine and exhaust fumes.

this is one from a 96 but I have had a look at some other motors I have here and seems not all had them fitted, anyway you are welcome to this for £5.00 Rick

This is interesting as from the first time i towed with our first truck the extra heat gave off fumes from the gear oil. Over recent years the leather pvc upper gater has split and don't half get stinks coming from the outside world.

After I've got over the MOT repairs I might look into these gaters but got our hands full with repairs for MOT which is due end of the month.

sent you a PM with the existing ones. Don't think those one's would fit, but for a fiver might be worth a try!

this is what I have, best of the two that are available, the rubber lower gaiter is split on the main gear lever with only a very small split on the transfer box one, the top gaiters as you can see two small holes in side of main one, Rick

You're a gem!! So, that's those gaiters + vent. Let me know how we do this!... Include the alarm cover too, and I'll work out a way to make them the same color....
