I was looking for gearbox oil, will EP80-w90 be OK for the box it's GL4, or should I use SX75w-90: also GL4 is there a big difference confused:

Use only Comma 75W 90 GL-4

The oil you have specified is too thick to run in the lower temperature bracket of the U.K and will cause bearing damage.

Never use GL-5 - this has a high sulphur content and will damage the bronze bearing surfaces.

bum - I got a load of 80-90 a while back to do a change - could I use it to flush the box while it's so warm(wet) outside?

I did my oil change this weekend after a good run and all went well, the drain/magnet plug had a mushy sort of grey swarf on it, so no big bits and I got 4.5 ltrs out and put just shy of 5 ltrs in.
I used the garden hose trick from the engine bay and that worked well, I got my Comma 75w90 GL4 off of Amazon for £7.03 a ltr + free P+P:D

For some strange reason, unlike the 80w 90 you cannot buy it in 5Ltr containers :nenau
