hi again my maverick lost a lot of gear oil whilst swapping the engine, the question is do they have a drain plug ?

and does anybody know where the filler plug is roughly?

Drain plug is on the bottom of the box & the filler plug is on the side of the box driver side

What I want to know is will your drain plug be seized in like mine:doh Two mechanics given up on it so far, too scared case would crack:eek:

Has anyone else had the same problem and been able to free it off?

warm it up a little may help.. no looked under there for that though

I always thought gear casing are an ali so they should not really seize that bad and too much heat could be bad

just warm it a bit,(the casing round the plug) oil in box will stop too much heat getting in to ally, get a socket/ key that fits properly and put a piece of pipe over the end to extend it to assist loosening, do NOT try and hammer the spanner/bar round or you will knack it.(the plug that is)
