Just for information today I changed the oils in my truck.
Gearbox took 5lts
Front diff took 1.3 lts
Transfer box took 2.3 lts. This is on a 2005 model and hopefully will help someone with a similar year.
Gearbox and transfer. 80/90 GL4
Front diff. 80/90 GL5

Oh and forgot to say a big thanks to rick for your help :thumb2

According to comma mine should take ATF in the transfer box but is it right as it's a year 2000 and I thought ATF would be too thin

Should be fine bud. Trol's are meant to take gear oil but Nissan released a bulletin saying to put ATF in instead - there's an issue with cold weather and the swirling gear oil making the front shaft turn when in 2wd and causing the auto hubs to bang in and out. The thinner ATF stops it happening.

Years ago back in the days of shark1e it was posted on here to use synthetic oil in the transfer box because it was thinner and didn't cause drag in side the box which engaged the front hubs in a similar manner. Does anyone know if this was true? It's so long ago I can't remember who posted but it was one of several reasons that was blamed for the brake rings breaking.
