Well, I used to have a plastic cover here, but due to new 31"'wheels I've trimmed back my sill and had to cut away the plastic liner here, I also hammered the seam flat. now this is all painted in hammerite underbody seal, but the gap at bottom here between sill front and bottom of front wing is just there and filling with crap :doh

Anyone else have this point exposed ? and those that have trimmed back for larger wheels etc have you covered this up with anything ?

Wouldn't be bothered but the bottom of the door/lower hinge gets plastered with shite and it wont do good in the long term

Nah, just grease your pin every now and then. I've only got about 10mm of wing left down there where the little bracket is and not had liners or plastic there for two years or more :D

Hmm, I just worry about rot etc, but if i clean it well and like u say, grease the pin i spose it will be ok

I reckon i will fill this with expanding foam and trim it off when set, then underbody seal over the lot

I'll use the window fixing grade foam rather than the nutty orange foam that would probably push my wing out :p

The end of the sill is still closed . The hinges are easy to get at and give a quick blast with mr hose pipe :thumb2

I wouldn't fill it with foam, water will still get in and just sit there rotting the thing.

If your going to be offroading this comes with the territory, Mud will find it's way into most places.

Mines the same, but when i put the new wings on they got 2 thick coats of underseal plasterd on them. Now they just get washed out after playing in the mud.

had a think, mine got caked with mud on the kl71s and none of the arches were cut or modded.

I think it's just down to the more aggressive tyres picking up the mud.

Fill the gap with chemical metal and paint over it. Its a 2 part thing you mix. It can be drilled and tapped its that good

its about 3 inches wide lol and it would take about a liter of liquid metal a side
