Fuel tank guard

I have taken the fuel tank off to get access to a leak and it could do with replacing-does anyone know where I could get a replacement please.
Whilst under there I have decided to rust proof the underside. I have been cleaning it off witha wire brush and have now got rid of the loose rust and dirt. I have got the Hammerite Waxoyl to put on it - do I need to treat the rust or can it be put straight without any further treatment?
Any advice would be appreciated-thanks!!

ask cnc fab he could have a tank guard.
