just a wonder, i guess i'm right in assuming that its an 80 litre tank on a 96 maverick.

had a tenner in tank which had about 30 miles hit out of it, fuel gauge was in red, light on. gauge was below top of red.

filled up and only got almost 70 litres in brimmed to top of filler pipe.

is my gauge daring me or is my tank smaller than i thought?

Doesn't surprise me mate, just 'cos the light comes on doesn't mean you're completely out of fuel. Most manufacturers give you a safety margin.

I know when the light comes on in the Trol I've still got around 15 litres left in the tank (95 litres).

In my 99 T2 I can still safely do 30 miles towing the caravan with the light on.

Most I have ever got in is 77l to the brim, but I knew I had pushed my luck to its limit.

sent from my phone, sorry for any typo's.

I always like to push the gauge into the red when I first get a new (to me) car. So when the red light comes on, is that it or does it flash? I've not managed that yet, but it has been half way through the red!

Light comes on and off and had all way to bottom of red I thought : lol

SWB 75L & LWB 80L tank:thumb2 TBH both of my T2's fuel gauges have said i've used more fuel than I have but not by a great deal but for me it's nice to know i've got a little extra in there if push came to shove:rolleyes: TBH I never let mine get under 1/4 a tank most times it doesn't get under 1/2 a tank before it's filled right up
