hi guys, i'm just wondering how hard it is to replace the fuel lines from tank to engine on a 1993 lwb

1. what side do the pipes run?

2. what sort of pipe/hose do i use, rubber?

3. what are the big hoses for that are on the RH side of the tank? they look the same as what on a hoover:lol

4. is it a hard job to do?

cheers

.

Hi mate I replaced about 2 metres of my fuel from the tank to approx the drivers door underneath of course :lol

There is a guide in the downloads as to how to access the fuel tank I replaced the same sort of length as is downloads

You need 6mm ID or the return pipe and 8mm ID for fuel line to pump

I used proper fuel hose approx £2 a metre from my local motor factors

As for cutting the fuel lines I used a junior hacksaw to cut them just make sure you have a rag to lap up the diesel that will spill out.

Took away the old fuel line and jubilee clipped the new hose in place about an hours work

Cable tied the new fuel line to the existing brake lines

The fuel line run under the drivers side tucked just on the inside of the chassis

You will see in the downloads which pipes are the fuel lines

Hope this helps:thumbs

Cheers for that:thumb2. Ill have a look in the downloads as I have not checked

hi,
8mm from tank to filter

6 mm return

oilybits.com will have the pipe you need, ( other places as well )

you don't need to remove the old pipe, just cable tie new one to it

simples

NB don't do in the rain ( its wet )

As they said, even a-destruct-a-truck boy like me managed it. Sheared the head off a couple of the bolts in the boot floor, but hey, two bolts are enough to keep it there!

I used clear braided as that's what I had - might not last forever as it's not 'pukka' fuel pipe, but seems to do.

6mm & 8mm

Rubber

6mm & 8mm

From boot area just past wheel arch
