Front lokka

Seriously thinking about getting a lokka for front diff has anyone got one fitted and what are they like to fit yourself as according to lokka them selves any one with basic mechanics skills can fit one. And don't seem to bad a price

Read all the threads on here and don't seem to be too bad to fit.
Think I might buy another diff,fit lokka then swap them over.

I must admit I toyed with the idea a while ago.
And thought nahh! Its going too far for what I need.

My needs have changed.I now need a winch.preferably one at front and back and a lokka.

On mine yes and did it so I still have a flat floor over it
Cable goes out over the tank and out the rear crossbeam thingy :thumb2

How practical is this as a mod on an otherwise standard T2?
I saw your pictures, and loved the idea, as it keeps it safe and protected, plus makes use of what is basically wasted space. I could not work out though if you had braced the winch mount to anything.

If it is mounted in the floor pan, what stops it from bending the floor pan My other thought is, is it safe to pull on the body rather than the chassis, as the body is only really held onto the chassis with 10 bolts?

Actually, even I was thinking to myself the other day how I would have liked the security, we drove into a tight lane and it was a footpath so could not proceed, now stuck in a deep muddy rut with a ditch on one side, steering did nothing had to gas it out, hit a tree :doh wishing I had a rear winch at that moment

There should be some earlier pics of the rear winch build on here somewhere. I did a dirty great steel channel welded onto the chassis via the coil hangers. Body lift reqd to do it like mine so the winch cable/rope can pass over the fuel tank

You can winch out backwards with a front mount winch. You'll need some snatch blocks too and a couple of strops. Also a tree or two or ground anchors.
Ah sod it put a winch in the back much easier lol
