Just replaced the front disks/hubs etc. as per previous post.

Now, I have set the hub preloads just enough that with the wheel refitted I get about 1mm movement at the extremeties of the wheel diameter. If I just check the hub the movement it hardly measurable.

Now,OK, I could put a DTI on the hub etc. but really I have done all ,y previous vehicles by feel and have not had a problem but what sort of free play have others adjusted the hubs for?

Cheers,
Paul

I normally try and eliminate all free play but with as little as 1mm play at the wheels extremities I think the next hole on the locking washer would be a little tight, its better to run it a little slack than over tighten it and cause premature wear to the bearings

Cheers Jerry.

Check whether there is any more adjustment left at the wknd. It won't take long as everything is nice and free now :)
