Got a new switch for the fog lights, plugged it in, nothing :(

I looked in the manual but the wiring diagram shows a combination switch for the front and rear fogs so I arseume that's for the later models ?
Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the earlier ones ?
There are four terminals on the switch, and four wires on two separate plugs which came off the back of the old switch.
Two wires on one plug are green and joined together, the other plug has a green wire and a green and brown wire.
the plug which came with the switch had two grey wires on one plug and one red/blue, one grey red on the other.

I have no clue when it comes to electrics.

Sorry I got no clue when it comes to colours:doh

But I just got set of genuine Nissan front fogs + Wipac hairraiser spots to wire at the weekend:doh:doh:confused:

I could tell that from your photo, it says redcar but yours is clearly grey.:augie

Mine's blue and silver, but it just looks brown most of the time. :nenau

when I connected this switch up last night there was a loud click like a fuse blowing, but none of the fuses have blown.
Now the dashboard back lights, the side lights, and the "lights on" buzzer have all stopped working. Any chance they all work off the relay in the box under the bonnet which says light warning on it? I've had all the fuses out and they're all good.

Please don't refer me to the manual link because that only covers the electrics on later/different models.

sounds to me like an inline fuse has poped.. look by the battery and follow the wiring back.. im sure there was a fuse there.

There's a 30 amp fuse on a little relay attached to the bulk head. it's connected directly to the battery live by a red wire, and also has a green wire which goes into the bulk head, two blue wires which go to the fog lights, and a black wire which is earthed the body.
The fuse is ok though.
Next ?

just an update for anyone experiencing similar problems. I checked all the fuses again and found the one for the back lights had blown. Changed it and everything that had stopped working came back on.
Apart from the fog lights.
Back to the drawing board :banghead
