Hi all, I was wondering if its possible to wire my front fog lights (95 mav) into the main beam ? But also keep then on a switch so they come on if I want them to when it's foggy. I was wondering if I could wire them to the existing main beam relay I have to run the spot lights on the roof. I know a little but about wireing but no expert. Thanks , Daz

Well there quite bright and when I'm out in the sticks I notice a difference when there on, but don't want to blind people coming the other way,

Iv'e done that on mine, also the spot lights come on too.

I actually wired the feed to a relay via a switch on the dash so that the option of FULL FULL beam can be disabled, as putting on fog lights when conditions are unsuitable is illegal.

The problem with my mav was breaking in to the wire on the headlight full beam, as I have said before, my mav when on side lights puts the dipped beam bulbs in series, so it was important choose the right side of the car.

I took this wire to a dash mounted switch, then from there to a relay under the bonnet.
Power coming from the battery via a suitable fuse, 15 Amp, and suitable heavy duty cable, that would normally be capable of carrying 20 to 30 amps, to reduce voltage drop.

Hope this helps.

Using the original full beam relay will put extra load on the relay contacts, and they will fail sooner. Also the wiring and fusing won't be up to the extra load.

best regards,
Rustic
