Right so last night my new discs and pads arrived from clickforcarparts on eBay

I got round to fitting them and have ran into a few problems as per usual :(

I managed to remove everything perfectly, got the new disc on and reattached everything the reverse of what it came off however I believe that the discs that were on the car were the original ones that it came with and due to the new ones being thicker they seem to be slightly catching that flimsy heat shield???

Will this disappear as the pads and discs wear in or do I have to sort this another way?

I also noticed that when the garage did my wheel bearings, there is a washer that is attached to the threaded ring that screws onto the shaft and attaches with 2 little screws, I only have 1 screw :(

My next problem came with the pads, removed the old ones and was shocked to find that the outer one had more than half its life left and the inner one was down to bare metal

I had a quick look and it appears that the Calliper is foooooked, both sliders were jammed solid and the right hand side piston was also jammed (could explain the popping sound sometimes maybe under braking??)

Was going to open the bleed nipple as well to see if I could free the piston that way but that was rusted in solid!!! I did manage to remove the whole Calliper by undoing the 12mm nut and have mole gripped the pipe up

I spoke to James (Terranobreakershropshire) and he said he seems to have had a run on these lately and isn't sure if he will have any decent ones left, I haven't got round to removing the passenger side yet but I'm going to go with the fact that it's probably going to be in the same boat.

So my question really is, does anyone have a drivers side and passengers side Calliper with Sliders and a screw for the washer to replace the one that was missing.

They will have to be posted as I have no transport unfortunately
Let me know what you've got and how much your after as I'm very desperate

Thanks guys :thumb2

I Only have 1 screw holding my washers on mate, that's not worth worrying about

Just bend the shield

Is it not caused by play in wheel bearing tho causing extreme angle of disk ?

To get the pistons back in, all you do is remove the brake reservoir cap and push the pistons back, the fluid will go back into the reservoir so make sure you keep removing the excess fluid before it over flows and ruins your paint work.
The sliders should free off and can then be greased up :thumb2

They were rotten mate!!!!! I wouldn't have felt safe even putting them back on the car even if I could have fixed them!!!

I managed to get a lift to James' farm last night to marvel at his new array of scrapper Mav's and Terranos :lol and picked up two callipers and carriers that were in very good nick :thumb2:thumb2

Got home and fitted them with ease, The pistons returned beautifully and the sliders were as loose as a hookers .............. we wont go there lol

Car is back up and running WOOP WOOP :D brakes are overly sharp now too after bleeding them, I nearly put myself through the window this morning on the way to work :lol
