Looking to replace front discs on my truck. I will have a go at most things, I looked in the download section and all pretty straight forward. I have two questions though what do you all use to tighten up wheel bearing I see there is a special tool for this :nenau as I have fixed hubs I take it the procedure is the same as if I were removing an auto hub.

Thanks Colin

Take off the cap, then the circlip, then the 6 nuts and the fixed hub, then there's 2 little screws, then just tap the washer/nut round via a hole in the washer or use some long nose pliers to turn it

As he said, you don't need to tighten the bearing to much, just nip the nut up, check you have no play and that the wheel turns freely:)

I think I need to get back out to mine tonight as I'm having a few issues since doing my news discs and pads, my right hand side wheel seems to be getting hot and smoking slightly when it's cold, and under hard braking at speed the truck pulls to the right hand slight ever every so slightly, it was also making a slight squeaking noise as I was going along for a few miles

I'm sure it something stupid that I've overlooked when putting it all back together

Banshee were the caliper sliders free?Mine was pulling under braking sliders were the cause..

Cheers Gav

Did the discs on the Terrano (2000) couple of months ago, labourious job but easy, only issue was the 'hub to disc' nuts siezed, luckily I had a few spares off the shelf.

Allow 4 hours, few cups of tea, and girlfriend saying how dirty I was getting!
D:thumbs

As already stated, are the sliders moving freely, did the piston go back in OK and when you put it back together, did you try the brakes with the wheels still jacked up, if so, were they binding ??.
How tight did you do the wheel bearing nut up ??
