I've just read the workshop manual and it mentions that after I've removed the drive shafts and prop etc that the engine needs unbolting from it's mounts and lifting in order to remove it

Are we talking engine hoist jobbie or can I get away with it on the drive?

Want to get the one out my breaker so I can fit it to the Terrano :naughty

Given nobody replied but so many opened and looked I'll give you a run down of how it comes out :naughty

Drain fluid - 1/2" ratchet into a nasty tub
Unbolt Propshaft - x4 14mm nuts and bolts
Unbolt Driveshafts - x6 12mm nuts and bolts per side
Unbolt Diff mounting bolts x2 19mm parallell with front of car
x2 19mm either side at rear

Slide it out with lots of jiggling and swearing :augie

Being as you keep rubbing it in with your diff with lokka fitted we are jealous so didn't want to give you any help in any way :lol

One job I ain't done so take pics please and as soon as diff available for mine I shall get one

I mean lokka bud as they said ones not available for mine just yet maybe later in the year

Just keep saying not available for that year vehicle.

Yeah they don't have any rears but I've been told they are pointless anyway unless you do front first

you cannot put a Lokka on the rear, as it is not like the front, (not driven most of the time) as the rear is always driven it will be locked all the time, wet roundabouts will be err interesting, as will general high scrub on corners in the dry, Rick

Its not the rear I want its the front one I type in my details go through to pay and screen comes up not available so have emailed them and they say they hope to have it developed buy end of year and this was last year and still says that now

yes I thought Banshee read it wrong, I wonder if a pre 2000 diff complete will fit, cncfabs should be able answer that as the only access I have to the later model is Alex and I been too busy for him to come down for a while, rick

What year is yours?

02 plate bud I guess diffs changed on later ones

This isn't stacking up :nenau

I'm wondering if when I take mine off if it's actually going to be the same diff

What's the LOKKA part number recommended for you're front diff

The front for the 99 diff that I've just removed is listed as a NIS-FO-202
Whereas the front for my 04 is listed as NIS-FO-199

I'm wondering if this diff will fit my car at all :doh

The two diffs look identical

However my 1999 with LOKKA fitted has this stamped on it

And this is what my mates 2004 has on it

Could it be possible that the internals are different?

I've just e-mailed LOKKA with all my findings and I'll see what they say.

They made the damn things :lol

Only way to tell if ratio is different is to mark up input shaft and diff casing and mark up drive shaft flange and diff casing.
Do one full revolution of input shaft and mark up where flange stops.
Do this on each diff and compare.
Not sure why ratio should be different from earlier models but you never know.
