Hi,
my Terrano 2 2.7tdi 1999 has just failed its MOT on spongy pedal and uneven front braking. I have discovered that the discs are in need of replacing as are the pads.

Could anyone please advise how to tackle this job-are any special tools required-removal of hubs etc----

Any advice would be most appreciated,
Fred

morning riobey, you might find that the caliper sliders are seized aswell, and it might be a good idea to make sure all parts are available before you start the job, and as it's your brakes, do you know a mechanic who could do the work for you, better safe than sorry mate, good luck fred.:thumbs

if you are a confident d.i.y mechanic its not too bad a job.
i didnt need any special tools when i replaced my front brake discs.
as tezzer says check that the floating caliper pins are not seized.i have had 2 terranos and came across it on both of them.

its not a hard job mate just have plenty of wd40 to spray on the pins and if your carefull and dont get air in then you shouldnt even have to bleed them after. make sure you have a new bottle of break fluid though as yours may well have run down a bit as the brakes are worn. oh and dont forget to take the top off the fluid resevoir. a socket set, screwdrivers and plyers and a little bit of sandpaper to roughen up the pads should be all the parts you need for the job.
