Hi i need to change the pads and while im at it will do the discs as they are rather worn anyone got an idea as to what would be the best make to fit as milners seem a good price the truck is a 03 3.0 t2 with 56,000 miles on the clock .
Also is it much of a job to remove the rear drums as need to inspect the shoes and drums for wear.
Thanks Ady

rear drums are easy had mine off not long back to change brake cylinder, just make sure handbrake is off and they should slip right off, iff not u can tap it with a hammer to shock release it or use a bolt in the bolt hole to try and pull them off, as for the brake disks i dont know but i'm sure someone will be along soon to tell you

Hi, it's best to remove centre console to gain access to the adjuster nut under the handbrake.
Handbrake off, slacken adjuster with 10mm spanner.
Use 2 x 8 mm bolts to push off each hub.

Yes, you do need to adjust them, the auto adjusters are not that good.
I marked mine once with a blob of liquid paper/snopake/correction fluid, the adjuster hadn't moved between services, so a couple of clicks on the adjuster and all ok again. The remaining adjustment is taken on the cable under the handbrake handle. Probably needs to be done twice a year. At least just before MOT:nenau
If you have a trolley jack, raise by the diff and place it on axle stands. 30 minute job, including the tea break.
As long as the hub has been off before........... recently...........
