Hi any tips on how to push the brake pistons back as tried normal methods and cannot move them and they are not seized .
Or can you buy a tool to push them back to allow new pads to be fitted as went to change pads and ended up putting old one back in (but they where not as worn as i thought any way ):lol

I have used a block of wood and a G Clamp to do this on some cars, take the cap of the resevoir as well and place a rag around it to catch any fluid.

This might be what you mean by normal methods though.

long as you can see them moving and retracting under operation? one of my '02 caliper pistons was seized solid, and my rear brake shoes completely clucked on one side, so do check them too! MPG has shot up after the garage freed it all up for me!!

Thanks all have gone and brought a piston seating tool from local garage shop for £20 and all welcome to borrow it when you need to, made the job wery easy no more skinned knuckles using bars etc :D

I've just been through all that with mine. I found out that only one piston per side would move:eek: I had the proper tool that twists and turns and still took some agro to make the piston move. I wasn't happy with that so I took one out to have a look at the bore and piston:eek: Sod that they were goosed. So I dont think it's worth it if you haven't checked the innards. Good working second hand ones are about 20 quid:thumbs
Two s/h calipers later, my truck stops on it's nose:cool:
