I'm going to replace my front anti roll bar bushes soon and got kit today, 2 large bushes and 4 small with washers, My question is the drop links were replaced not long ago before i got it, can the larger bushes be slid over the drop link and slid along the roll bar or will i have to remove the drop links, in which case i made need to replace again as i know they may take some getting off.

you have to remove the drop links however since they were replaced not long ago they should come off pretty easy, i did one of them kits not long ago and found it alot easier to do by completely taking off the roll bar, the cheat way of doing it is to cut throught the big bushes on the join line that is on them and wrapping them over the roll bar, thats what i did first time i replaced mine, had no probs with mot as when fastened back in placed they squeeze together nice and tight

Ditto, far easier to loosen off or remove the bar first, then take the droplinks off.:)

Are you sure bushes need swapping though? Its a bit nerdy of someone to have replaced the droplinks without, since they come with a set of bushes, so its only the two big ones on the bar itself that would be older, and they don't tend to fall apart for quite a long time because they are so big.

Just done job, the two big ones were well worn and cracked & perished badly, and the small (4) ones were just as bad, and yes they had just changed the drop links for some unknown reason. Like you say why just replace them. Drop links were still good apart from bushes. Not a bad job to do took about 45mins with a cup a tea. Bought the truck off a mate of mine who had it for his company vehicle, Bought new and he had it serviced at main dealer from new and not had one bill less than £600!! 2005 3.0di good mate of mine and got it for £3500, Main dealer had ripped him off for years!!
