Ok so I have been running around with a totally bolloxed and knocking front arb since I've had the truck. I knew the bushes were worn but until i went to swap them today, i hadn't realised how bad :lol rubbers were basically non existent, shaft on drivers side was bent, there was about 4 mm play in that link. holes in bottom arms had ovalized to 1.5 times the size.

So i nipped up Gt spares in town and picked up a replacement for the fooked drivers side. they stock all the 'moog' spares which are as good if not better than OE parts. I was a bit concerned with the holes in lower arms being worn, but i greased the poly bushes before i put them on and I'll see how they go, if the wear out in 12 months then I'll just get some more or try and repair the arms but i think they be ok as I've seen pics of the holes being a whole lot worse.

But the thing I wanted to share with you was my experience of driving up town with the front ARB off (rear has been off for months as well ) it body rolled a bit but was totally drivable and i still chucked it over the roundabout at 50mph no problem. So those of you that do mostly offroading or do not drive it like you stole it everywhere should seriously consider removing all arb's to gain alot more unrestricted movement on the front end.

Best way to overcome the issue of elongated holes in the wishbones is to sandwich a large washer each side of the wishbone i.e. between the two poly bushes. When I did mine I used the washers from the old arb drop links, around 3,000 miles later all looks good as new.
