Just a quick question about the front ARB Links. I replaced them last year complete with the d bushes, used all polly bushes. Fitted them all by removing the front anti roll bar so that I could get the links nice and tight on to the bar.

I’ve now noticed that the rubber boots are ripped to shreds. I have notied the ARB is twisted , instead of being lined up.

Any ideas why this would happen?

More importantly, have you fitted it upside down? I've done that before on the Maverick and wondered why it kept shredding bushes and snapping the links themselves

It will fit both ways round and doesn't look out of place either way up unless you pay close attention if that makes sense :nenau

Needs to be on its wheels when you tighten it all up!

As others have said yes ensure the bar is the right way up.

Also should be on an old fashioned ramp when you tight the clamps etc not on a wheel free type. Or just on a pit or lying on your back without the vehicle being jacked up.

As an aside Poly-bushes depending what colour/grade do in my experience fail quite quickly.
Our Jeep is on its second set (Orange) in 3 years/40k miles !

All that dissipated kinetic energy has to go somewhere.

Haha an interesting comment about the anti roll bar upside down, what do you say Tdoug:lol we did the job together and had a right laugh. As far as I’m aware second time around it is correct way up as it is the same way as my other truck.

Can’t remember if it was jacked up, on ramps or just sat there without either. Guessing at where it was parked to do the job I doubt it was jacked up and on stands.

Fitted orange polly bushes and they have been fitted less than a year and hardly done any miles really.

Another job on the list after the sender unit is sorted.

I had poly radius arm bushes on my Pajero. Impressive to look at, but boy were they noisy. Had lube them once a month!
The noise was terrible, it sounded like structural failure going on!:lol

I'm pretty sure we did it the same as your other truck mate, but we could do with a pic from somebody who definitely has one on correctly!
