FreeWheeling Hubs

My 2003 Patrol has the standard free wheeling hubs on the front wheels, recently had the swivels done and have noticed that the hubs no longer lock up and I also believe they are failing to engage in auto mode. Has my mechanic left something out I would be happy if I could just turn them to lock and leave them but that does not lock them.

Any advice ie where can I buy a manual conversion (Milners out of stock)

I got rid of my auto hubs and fitted AVM manual hubs piece of cake to fit too. I got them off eBay, there are some on there at the mo for £125, I paid £110

I just checked on eBay and it seems there different T2 has 27 splines the patrol has 31.

Russell, check the grease is not old and caked.
These hubs only require very little grease to work.
If it's too packed in there, they won't lock.
I converted mine from auto and lock, to freewheeling and lock. This is an easy mod and proved itself in the Alps for me. 2wd in low box!:thumb2
If your hubs are mullered, then the AVMs are brilliant for the money.
If you can clean them out and get them to lock, then I can tell you about the mod.
10 seconds each side, and you'll have freewheeling hubs, that you can lock manually.

Took them off this morning and had a good look at them, what ever I do I can not get them to lock, so assume something inside has broken although I do not understand why both not working as surely once one breaks the drive takes the path of least resistance ie the broken one.

I've experienced this myself with my manuals!!!!! packed them that tight that it was oozing out of the holes I hadn't tightened up yet, when I came to use them they would lock but the passengers just didn't want to unlock itself :doh

Fitted a set of high performance AVM lock / unlock hubs, just need to go green laning and test the out now.
