I downloaded this from google play store and used it to go to stafford and back for the 4x4 show, I was impressed with it and would recommend it! Its the middle top one called offline maps and navigation....

Worth knowing...

I must admit that now I have got the hang of Navmii, I actually quite like it, but always handy to have a backup option.

I was using co-pilot before but this is much better, tracks in real time, displays speed and is accurate with distances to fuel and parking etc., I'm happy I've got it :thumb2

You only get it free for so long.
Used it for a while but lost a lot of the features because I'm too tight to upgrade to the paid version so I got rid of it.

It didn't say free trial or owt, the co-pilot one only had voice commands for a while then wanted money, still gives visual directions though.

I have Copilot. I've had it for years and yet be let down by it. It does display live speed.Has tunnel mode too . Is uber accurate in all the Europe I've used it. All tax camera warnings . Address by postcode or town or street. Links to address book. Bla bla. I did buy the whole package for 20 quid or something.
Used it on my phone against virtually every main sat nav inc Google maps. It's simply ACE :D

I only have the free version and only use it off line, it does get me to places but not always the best way!

The settings are quite clever. Mine will 're route for certain traffic and roadworks giving alternative options. Shortest route I use a lot out in the stix for fun but settle for quickest normally. I can also set it for van mode too. Great for towing ☺

Misconception that google maps eat your data, not if you use offline maps
Make sure you turn off 'wifi only' else it will not work
touch the three bars top left
select offline maps
If you plan to use it off line select the map you want
I like google maps as it is free, has traffic hold ups and road works show in real time AND it will re-route you if there is a hold up ahead
AND IS FREE

Like kitchenman says it'll work offline if you download the map you need before you set off. I used it offline a lot in Oz as I had my data switched off most of the time and just downloaded maps on free wifi as and when
