unplug the MAF, if it's no worse then that could be the answer.

yup, also, how low in the revs? the turbo doesnt kick in till...i think 2k rpm ish?? and by flat spot what do you mean, NO power??

its got a new airfilter 2000 miles ago. and its at the very bootom of the rev range around 1000 rpm. i strugled to set of in a field 2 weeks ago as i was facing uphill:sly how much is a maf? if indead it is the maff

got i hate cars sometimes.

1000 rpm is barely above tick over, ae yo sure it don't need a few more revs? many people new to trbo diesels tend to drive them like petrol engines and diesels do like a bit of revving :thumb2

I agree with Plank. Every diesel ive ever driven i have to rev it WAY more than any petrol ive driven. As an example, when I drive my Maverick, I pretty much rev past 1k rpm up to 2k rpm just to set off, and it feels normal, and powerful whether on a hill, or a level. It was the same for my old Fourtrak, and my mates Landrover, and as I recall, yours when I drove it!

as for the MAF, a faulty one will DEFINATELY affect power. depends what year/model you have, but i thnk for yours they are about £50 ish, maybe less, no where near as expensive as they are for mine but you can also try cleaning PLUS its an easy swap.

If I were in a field, id be using 4x4, release clutch as rev reach 1.5krpm....not less.

if i were driving my mazda v6, it would be at 8oo rpm in 2nd gear lol...

maybe i drive like a girl.. ill put my foot in

and i thought I was the one who drove like a girl!! seriously, I dont think i drive my 4x4 properly even now, but one thing i have learned is that you have to drive them quite hard to make them work, and not to be afraid of breaking them, im just about getting used to it and ive had the car for flipping well over a year now!

my advice would be this:

go out and try to replicate the "flat spot issue", then, apply the simple advice above by giving itmore revs between gear changes-i.e. stay in first untill 2.5-3k rpm then change to 2nd then again untill 3k rpm then to third and see if that drives any better.... thats what I did, and found it played much better...

youre probably used to your much more powerful Saab//!!

not saying theres not anything wrong though, so id get that MAF checked...!!
