Anybody have any idea on how to fit replacement aerial, it says its supposed to be easy, is there a quick way? I don't know how to do it lol!
Chris :?

Where is yours fitted as some are wing fitment, some rear roof & the later ones were front of roof fitment

fitting ariel

if its the roof mounted one it bolts up from inside the roof lining.depends on if you are fitting the complete ariel or just the antenna bit that bolts onto the mount.if its just that part it just screws off,if not you have to remove all neccessary interia parts to get under the roof lining.

hi,
I fitted a nice bee sting one...

got to be carful if you use some carparks as my local one it hits teh lights...

grip fil and just duck tape the lead to the roof , so not to obscure the doors opening

you did say quick

Aerial mast (telescopic bit), I can't quite remember but it's something along the lines of turn radio on to raise the aerial. Then the mast some how unscrews, check out your replacement to see which bit unscrews. Make sure the plastic tail comes out too. Push the new tail into the aerial mount, then turn radio off and it basically pulls in the plastic tail followed by the mast. When it has taken the mast all the way in you should be able to screw it in. I've never done it but had the instruction from a Nissan mechanic a few years ago when I worked at a garage.

Thanks Jim
Thats helped me with same problem

You could try gentle gripping the bottom section of telescopic with pliers and unscrewing. Remember it's the telescopic bit that unscrews not the mounting body of the aerial.

Jim

PS have you got a replacement yet? they'll probably cost an arm and a leg.

basically the plastic teeth that run from the metal aerial have not come out from the old one when i pulled it out, does anyone know how to get it out or what to do. the new one has gone in but not all the way so its not going up and down properly any ideas? I'm baffled!

cheers chris

You could try taking the new mast out again & feed a coat hanger down with a small hook on the end of it as the old bit sounds as if it's snapped off & is stuck at the bottom
