Hi to any members In Scotland, familiar with the area around Ballindalloch, Morayshire......south of Forres and Elgin, near the Spey/Avon

Does anyone have any knowledge of inexpensive brown trout fishing in this area.

I realise that may be an oxymoron......inexpensive/Brown trout fishing in Scotland, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

I am due to spend nearly a week in that area in mid September, and wondered if I could take some kit (spinning or dry fly) with me just in case........

Thanks in advance.....:thumb2

you'll get trout fishing for only a few pounds per day on a lot of the waters in Scotland. You'd be surprised at just how accessible it is :thumb2

You'll find it unlikely that many waters will offer bait or spinning for trout as an option though

Thanks Quixote,
I have managed to track down a free fly only lochan, about 15 minutes away from our cottage.
On the basis, that family pressures will dictate how much time I spend thrashing the water, this seems a good start!

Anything 'wee and black' will see you right. 12s and below, fish the top of the water and put a well-hackled fly on the dropper to create a wake :thumb2

Hope you have a great time!!! :)

Great minds think alike.......I have always favoured Black gnat at 12........:thumb2

I know not of what you speak but must insist you post some pictures or forever be banned from the forum :thumbs
