Fitted a new filter housing this week as my old original one was letting air in as I had no air in the in feed pipe but air in the outlet! (fitted clear pipes) it was a new filter back in October so it was not a dodgy fuel filter. The new housing is bosch one and takes landrover filters which are only £2
After fitting it I had air coming in the in feed pipe which caused more running/starting issues! so ive now fitted a new full fuel line from the tank but not done the return pipe. I still seem to have air coming through but not as bad! My question is could a leak on the return pipe cause this? could it be an issue inside the tank? Big test is if it starts ok in the morning! not holding my breath
Only fitted a bosch filter housing as it was cheap and easy to get hold of and the filters are cheap!

I modded my filter housing for the 2 pound filters too, works a treat ;)
The return pipe will make no difference. Check the connections again. Also how long have you had it running since bleeding ?

I did not think it would, ive done about 30 miles tops but when I pulled up I checked and could not see any air in the in feed but a few in the outlet pipe! Truck is running better now though pulls like fook again :D
could it just be the odd air pocket still in the pipe?
The filter housing is a bosch copy which im thinking might be crap but it was a last minute thing to get me rolling again. Did you use original bosch?

No mine's the cheapest one I could find in my local tractor shop ;) Just check the filter bowl seal.

Mine too £9.50 excluding vat.. did not need to think about it but just fit it which was easy enough. Ill see what happens tomorrow and check its sealed ok. Started running veg and it all went wrong :lol Run bio all year with no probs!!

Yep bio for me too, runs neat and no pissin about mixing it with allsorts :thumbs

All went wrong how? I'm on pure veg with a splash of unleaded too, runs great, no performance difference at all. Also doesent LPG return bad mpg?

I thought you were having issues with the engine having a bit of a flat spot since veg

if you have a good quality local supple then yes but plain old veg oil mixed with a splash of unleaded is hardly an effort

Yeh I know, just over egging a wine fueled comment :lol
I've run on veggie for years with no issues to speak of. Luckily a friend of mine uses bio so we club together and buy 1000 litres at a time.
Usually around a £1 a litre for duty paid or there's a guy in the woods that does awesome bio at 65p but it's hush hush
Last winter we were running neat at -18 :thumbs
Happy days

seems to have caused air leaks in the fuel lines and caused the filter housing to allow air in the diaphragm! guessing it was because of the extra suction to get the veg through the lines. Where did you get LPG from?

Big Red bottles works out the cheapest, no point buying it in the garage with all that duty and vat on it :sly

Took the sender unit/pick up pipe out today as its still getting air in :nenau
Cleaned out the swirl pot, seemed clean nothing really in it. Filled up with diesel tonight to see if it helps as I thought it might be just struggling to pick up the thicker veg/diesel! Will see how it starts in the morning. The swirl pot is a neat idea but you can see it been restrictive when sucking thicker fuel!

Totally fixed :clap
The filter head was sucking air in the bleed screw on the new filter housing which was not helping!!
I replaced the glow plugs last week and the truck was starting great but then its just got worse and worse!!! Pulled the plugs out today to check them and all four were fooked :eek::eek:
Bought them off ebay and I think they were fake lucas plugs! WTF fake plugs!
Fitted three old ones today that was ok and one new lucas one from the motor factors and so far we are all good :thumbs
Don't by lucas glow plugs from ebay!!!!!!
