warning direct line count tinted windows as a.modification .... i removed them from sheilas car and the insurance dropped quite considerably

You are correct, adding them..............

Admiral wanted £70+ for "mods" which were rear tints, k&n filter and a pair of spotlights.

You need to be careful tinting front side windows for legal reasons too. I think they should allow 75% light through or your friendly police officer may ask you to remove it.

I tint windows as part of our business and always recommend against tinting anything forward of the "B" post, so the front windows and windscreen should be left unaltered or yes your local traffic officer will cause you some problems and could possibly lead to you not only getting a fine but even points as the vehicle is not classed as road legal.....even though it wouldn't fail the MOT.....

rear windows /back windows count as a modification according to direct line and they charge a hefty premium as result , thats what i was warning about :thumb2

Change to Aviva - They didnt charge me a penny extra for putting my K&N on and I am only 26 lol....

I am thinking about tinting my windows too, got a quote from a garage to do it all properly for £200.

Not sure if Aviva will charge more for that though

Gav, when you say:

"got a quote from a garage to do it all properly for £200" how many windows is that and does it include the fronts?

Tint it yourself for 30 quid ish :thumbs
Doddle to do except the rear screen, that is a bit more of a challenge:augie
Do a search as we've done this last year I think :thumbs

Yeah but last time I did it myself when I was younger I ended up with loads of bubbles in it

well had troll 2 years with tints a pillars backwards, though a-b are lighter than
b back which are limo black.

police motor bike rider stopped me saturday and said fronts were illegal.

having spoke to my local force, they have same opinion and best bet is no extra tint
on factory tint, agreed as logically is like windscreen, so off they are coming.

done one and its left some crap behind so looking for a solvent to clean it off with.

other side going to try hair dryer for heated approach. seen sites today saying use steam
maker.

looks bettera lready with out, certainly driving in dusk.
